If you want to give your child a special experience this summer vacation, consider the ‘Marie Story Summer Vacation Program’ organized by the International Exchange and Cultural Promotion Institute. This program is a unique educational course designed for elementary school students to learn Korean history and culture in English, and to experience them firsthand through field trips. It has been very popular every year. In particular, the summer vacation special program helps participants grow as global leaders through short-term, intensive learning.

The flagship program of Mari Story, ‘Damdeok Story,’ is usually a year-long course. However, for children living outside the capital area or overseas, or for students who have difficulty making time on weekends, a two-week intensive course is available during the summer vacation.

Participants study textbooks about Korean history and cultural heritage in advance, then go on field trips with Korean English teachers. After the field trips, they take part in practical communication programs with foreigners, which helps them improve their English presentation skills.

A mother of a participating student who met on-site said, “This program is a very special experiential learning opportunity that goes beyond simple historical field trips. At places like palaces and museums, children enjoy interesting stories about K-culture in English. Through repeated English cultural experiences and presentation activities, children naturally build confidence and develop creative thinking and leadership skills.”

The Marie Story Summer Vacation Program has been steadily operated since 2006 and is leading the way in nurturing future talent with creativity and global competence. This summer vacation, let your child have the opportunity to grow into a global leader who can introduce Korean history and culture to the world through Mari Story.
