On November 20, a formal ceremony was held to present the Arirang Master Award certificate to Mr. Ali Karimi Tarki, honoring his distinguished contributions and lifelong dedication to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Arirang. The ceremony took place in a warm and respectful atmosphere, attended by family members, artists, and colleagues.

This initiative is part of a joint project operated by Culture Masters and the Advocacy Alliance for Culture Masters, established to support intangible cultural heritage artists through the evaluation and guidance of the International Advisory Board. All generous contributions are used meaningfully to advance the transmission and dissemination of traditional culture, while helping to build more compassionate, culturally enriched communities. We extend our deepest gratitude to all who offer their support and encouragement to this important mission.

Mr. Ali Karimi Tarki was born on March 25, 1956 (4 Farvardin 1335) in Mianeh, Iran. He holds a bachelor's degree in music and began his artistic career in 1984. From 1989, he studied authentic Iranian vocal music under renowned masters such as Mr. Shapour Rahimi at the Center for the Preservation and Propagation of Iranian Music and Mr. Hamidreza Nourbakhsh. In 1997, he continued his advanced studies under the legendary Iranian vocalist Mohammad-Reza Shajariyan, benefiting from his exceptional artistry until 2015.

Mr. Karimi Tarki is a principal member and vocalist of the Molavi Music Group in Iran. He has performed extensively both domestically and internationally—including Kuwait, England, Azerbaijan, and Turkey—actively promoting authentic Iranian music. As a dedicated educator and founding member of the Zanjan Provincial Music Association, he has taught numerous students, judged various music festivals, performed widely, and contributed significantly to the preservation of Iranian vocal traditions. He is also the vocalist of the album Yarane Movafeq. Since 1993, he has continued to teach and, through the establishment of a music school, remains committed to nurturing new talent and strengthening the cultural heritage of Iran.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Mr. Akbar Karimi—an ICCN member and UNESCO-affiliated cultural contributor who also serves as an international reporter for Arirang Culture Connect—briefly conveyed the official appointment on behalf of the Culture Masters. He offered a concise explanation of the significance of the Arirang Master designation, an honor recognizing individuals devoted to safeguarding, transmitting, and globalizing the Arirang tradition.

The Arirang Master Award stands as a distinguished global initiative that honors the achievements of intangible cultural heritage artists worldwide. By celebrating their lifelong dedication to traditional arts, this award serves as a powerful platform that promotes cultural appreciation, fosters meaningful intercultural exchange, and elevates the global recognition of Arirang as a treasured cultural legacy.
